Bearings
Problem: A polymer yarn is extruded
and cooled through water baths over lengths of several hundred
feet. The bearings must be lightweight, corrosion proof and have
an extremely low coefficient of friction.
Solution: After thorough testing it was
determined that a Jilson bearing (plastic races and cage, Glass
balls) had all these features and would meet their stringent
requirements. This account has been using Jilson bearings since
1994.
Problem: A manufacturer of food slicing machines
was having corrosion and performance problems with the bearings
being used. Corrosion, strength, durability and the ability to
withstand wash downs are the challenges we needed to solve.
Solution: Jilson designed a bearing with the specific
dimensions required composed of Plastic races and Stainless Steel
balls.
The customer has stated, “the bearings last too long”.
Problem: A manufacturer of roof racks designed a
new rack which allows ease of movement of the crossbars, however
the crossbars were binding. A rolling mechanism was needed but
it had to be durable, resist all types of weather, cost effective
and would not mar the surface of the rack.
Solution: A lightweight bearing composed of plastic
races and Stainless Steel balls with the races shaped to allow
ease of movement.
